The hospital is composed of 6 structural blocks which are articulated on six floors.
From the architectural point of view the building has a so-called “star-shaped plan” with a covered area of approximately 3,400 square meters. The total volume of the entire complex is approximately 80.000 cubic meters.
The bearing structure of all blocks, which are separated by technical joints, is reinforced concrete building frame type.
The project involved the development of a set of destructive and non-destructive, inspections, surveys and material testing in order to achieve the LC2 knowledge level.
The seismic assessment of the several structrual blocks was carried out paying particular attention to the phases of forecasting and execution of the tests and surveys campaign in order to guarantee the full operation of the hospital structure.
